Helena College University of Montana is really proud to be one of the safest campuses in Montana. One of the ways we do this is by following the rules given to us by Federal Law and the State Commissioner's Office. We have to educate students about preventing alcohol abuse and sexual assault. All students at Helena College who are taking classes for credit have to meet this requirement.
To do that, you'll need to complete two online courses. The first one is called AlcoholEdu, and it teaches you about preventing alcohol abuse. The second one is called Sexual Assault Prevention, and it helps you understand how to prevent and be aware of sexual assault.
You won't be able to register for future semesters unless you finish Part 1 of AlcoholEdu and the Sexual Assault Prevention courses. We really want you to take these courses seriously because they're important for your safety and well-being.
The courses will include some surveys to personalize your learning experience, but don't worry, your answers are completely confidential. We only see information about the whole student body, not individual answers.
You'll receive an email invite to the Vector Courses about 3 weeks into the semester. Make sure to check your Helena College email for it. Once you receive the invite you will have 30 days to complete the course and a registration hold will be placed on your account. But don't worry, the hold will be lifted within 1-2 business days after you finish the courses.
You'll need internet access and audio capabilities to take the courses. Use any major web browser from the last two years to avoid technical problems. You can take the courses in multiple sittings if needed. Each course will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
