What are the benefits to being a Montana Scholar?

  1. Special Montana 10 advisor who knows you and your goals.
  2. All Montana 10 students receive a scholarship that is applicable to tuition and mandatory fees for Fall and Spring semesters after their Pell Grant and other aid/scholarships apply.
  3. A $250 textbook stipend every semester.
  4. A monthly incentive worth $50.
  5. Academic coaching  specifically for Montana 10 Scholars.
  6.  Dedicated orientation program for Montana 10 Scholars.
  7. Freshman seminar course specifically designed to successfully launch your college career.

  10. Career development workshops to prepare you for your chosen career after graduation.

Montana 10 provides scholars with tuition assistance:

  1. All Montana 10 students receive a scholarship that is applicable to tuition and mandatory fees (outlined here https://helenacollege.edu/admissions_enrollment/tuitionfees.aspx) for Fall and Spring semesters. Scholarship amounts are based on financial need Students as determined by the FAFSA.
  2. Students who are eligible for Pell will receive a scholarship covering remaining tuition and mandatory fees after Pell and other aid is applied. Students who are not eligible for Pell but have an EFC below $12,500 will receive up to $300 per semester applicable to tuition and mandatory fees.

Montana 10 provides scholars with tuition assistance:

  • MT10 scholars will receive $250.00 per semester to use at the bookstore for required course material.

Montana 10 provides scholars $50 Monthly Incentive:

  1. This part of Montana 10 creates a system highlighting some of the most valuable university programs to use as resources for your college career and beyond. Montana 10 gives students $50 every month for participating in each month's incentive requirements.
  2. Incentives can be earned through attending workshops (to help your career, academics, and more!), participating in fun events, and so much more!

Montana 10 provides students with academic coaching:

  • Montana10 scholars will have access to their own cohort’s academic coaches. Montana10 academic coaches meet with scholars on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to help scholars take ownership of their semester goals, offer weekly encouragement, teach time-management skills, test-prep skills and more.

Montana 10 Scholars are on a full time schedule:

  • The Montana 10 advisors assist each scholar to build a full-time schedule (15 credits per semester) that works best for each scholar's individual needs and ensures on-time graduation in a four-year track.

Montana 10 Scholars take co-requisite math and writing courses.

  • The Montana 10 advisors assist scholars' to feel confident about their year-one Math and Writing placement to ensure on-time graduation in a four-year track.

Montana 10 scholars receive specialized advising:

  • Montana 10 scholars will have access to a personal Montana 10 advisor. Montana 10 advisors will provide individualized support for scholars' holistic college-career needs.

Montana 10 Scholars are given help to be career ready:

  • The Montana 10 team will help scholars: build career understanding through specialized advising and campus workshops, promote resume-building opportunities, and ensure scholars are in the right degree for their goals.

All Montana 10 Scholars are enrolled in a freshman seminar course (COLS):

  • Montana 10 scholars will be placed in a specialized first-year seminar to help foster campus and classroom belonging. The seminar counts for course credit.

Montana 10 scholars receive an additional orientation:

  • Montana 10 hosts a fall orientation for first-year scholars to meet the Montana10 staff, meet their fellow scholars and have their questions about the program answered.
